What is the difference between vitamin B5, pantothenic acid and calcium-D-pantothenate?

Pantothenic acid is a synonymous term for vitamin B5. Calcium D-pantothenate is just another chemical form of vitamin B5, which has better storage properties.

Is pantothenic acid acidic and can it lead to heartburn?

Although pantothenic acid generally acts as an acid in some contexts from a chemical point of view, it does not change the pH value of the body to any relevant extent and therefore does not lead to heartburn. This is due, among other things, to the relatively small amounts that are usually ingested. Even when several milligrams are taken per day, the effect as an acid in the body is still negligible.

At which time of day should I optimally use vitamin B5?
