Did you know?
Cordyceps sinensis is the name of the Chinese caterpillar fungus. This parasitic fungus attacks the caterpillars of certain butterflies and is found exclusively in the highlands of Tibet. There, the mushroom has been extremely sought after as a remedy since the 15th century. It is considered invigorating and an aphrodisiac in traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine. This is why the precious Chinese caterpillar fungus is unfortunately only very rarely found in nature.
