GI Balance Light 375 mg capsules
- With betaine HCl - In aqueous solution, betaine HCl can have a pH value of approx. 1-2 and thus provide an acidic environment for enzymatic processes.
- With vegan pepsin - A digestive enzyme that becomes active at a low pH value and is involved in the breakdown of proteins.
- For a balanced diet - Can be flexibly adapted to personal needs and taken in combination with meals.

- Contains 375 mg betaine hydrochloride per capsule, of which 266.5 mg betaine and 25 mg pepsin
What is betaine HCl?
- Betaine HCl is a compound that can create an acidic environment in aqueous solution.
- Betaine is a naturally occurring compound that serves as a methyl group donor in metabolism and is involved in various biochemical processes.
- Certain enzymes require an acidic environment for their activation and function.
- The pH value in the stomach influences the structure and function of specific digestive enzymes.
Vegan enzyme alternative to pepsin
- Contains 25 mg aspergillopepsin I per capsule - an enzyme for breaking down proteins
- Plant-based alternative to conventional pepsin, which is derived from animal sources
- Works at a pH value of 2-4
Areas of application
- Gentle support for individual needs
- Betaine also contributes to the maintenance of normal homocysteine metabolism (from 1500 mg betaine daily - equivalent to 6 capsules)
- Synergistic combination of Betaine HCl & Pepsin - Betaine HCl is a compound that can create an acidic environment in aqueous solution. Pepsin is an enzyme that is active in a low pH range and is involved in the breakdown of proteins.
- Vegan alternative to animal pepsin - Contains aspergillopepsin I, an enzyme from Aspergillus niger, which is already active at a pH value of 2-4.
- Individually adjustable dosage - The light version is suitable for a milder dosage.
- Betaine for homocysteine metabolism - Betaine contributes to the maintenance of normal homocysteine metabolism when at least 1500 mg of betaine is taken daily.
- Vegan and allergen-free: Free from animal ingredients, gluten, lactose and soy - ideal for vegans and allergy sufferers.
- No unnecessary additives: Contains no preservatives, artificial colors or magnesium stearate.
- Strict quality standards: Each batch is regularly and independently tested for purity and safety in German laboratories.

GI Balance Light

Stomach acid is a real all-rounder - it helps with digestion and protects the body from unwanted germs in food. With a pH value of 1-2, it is even stronger than lemon juice, which has a pH value of around 2! However, with increasing age or certain dietary habits, the production of this important acid can decrease.
If the acidity is too low, proteins are less easily broken down and nutrients such as vitamin B12 are absorbed less efficiently. Enzymes such as pepsin, which are essential for protein digestion, also need an acidic environment in order to work optimally.

Why should betaine HCl be taken with a protein-rich meal?
When does betaine HCl + pepsin start to work?
Can GI Balance Light be taken long term?
Are there any side effects or interactions?
- Interactions with medications: Betaine HCl may affect the effectiveness of acid-suppressing medications (antacids, H2 blockers, proton pump inhibitors). If you are taking such medications, use caution and consult a physician.
- Not suitable in cases of ulcers or gastritis: People with gastric ulcers or inflammatory conditions of the stomach lining should not take betaine HCl, as it may further irritate the gastric mucosa
How should betaine HCl be combined with meals?
- It should be taken with a sufficiently large meal (at least 500 kcal), preferably one high in protein.
- Do not take on an empty stomach, as this may increase the risk of stomach irritation. If taken without food, a meal should follow immediately.
- For smaller meals, a reduced dose may be sufficient.
Why should the capsules not be opened or dissolved in liquids?
