Damiana is a wild-growing shrub that belongs to the saffron mallow family and sprouts yellow flowers. Damiana originates in Central and South America and was valued by the Maya as a versatile medicinal herb. Mexicans have also used damiana for generations - mostly as a tea or in liqueur form. In the past, damiana was mainly used to increase sexual desire (as a natural aphrodisiac).
