Coenzyme Q10 capsules 200 mg
- 100 % bioidentical, highly pure ubiquinone: Contains coenzyme Q10 in the same form that occurs in the body for optimum absorption and utilization.
- Biocatalyst for cell metabolism in the mitochondria: Coenzyme Q10 supports energy production directly in the mitochondria, the "power plants" of the cells, and thus promotes important bodily functions.
- Ideal supplement when taking statins: Compensates for the decline in the body's own Q10 levels caused by statins and supports muscle health.

- Pure plant-based coenzyme Q10 - 200 mg per capsule
· Essential for cell energy and protection against oxidative stress: Coenzyme Q10 plays a central role in the energy production of cells and protects them from free radicals.
· Essential for cell function: Coenzyme Q10 provides the necessary energy for organs such as the heart and muscles to reliably fulfil their functions.
· High concentration in energy-intensive organs: Particularly high Q10 levels are found in organs with high energy requirements, including the heart, liver, kidneys and muscles.
· The body's own production and supply gaps: Q10 is mainly produced by the body itself. However, this production drops significantly from around the age of 40 - in the heart muscle by up to 30 %, and from the age of 77 by almost 60 % compared to a 20-year-old person.
· Natural sources and daily requirement: Q10 is found in animal foods such as meat and fish. However, the optimum daily requirement for a good cell supply is around 500 mg. Only 3-6 mg is absorbed through food. The rest is produced by the body itself.
· Medication as a Q10 predator: Statins, antidepressants and beta-blockers can lower Q10 levels, which can lead to side effects such as muscle pain.
· Ideal for:
• Athletically active people who participate in high-performance sports.
• People with a very stressful everyday life or job.
• Supportive when taking statins*
• People with diseases of the heart, mitochondria or muscles*
• Adults over the age of 50 who want to support their body's own Q10 supply.

Coenzyme Q10

Heart muscle cells consist of approximately 40% mitochondria, which act as powerhouses supplying the necessary energy. This energy enables the heart muscle to beat tirelessly – around 100,000 times per day! Without the constant energy production of the mitochondria, the heart would not be able to perform its vital work. An everyday comparison: the energy produced by the mitochondria in the heart every day could be enough to power a small electric vehicle on the motorway for hours.

Frequently asked questions
Why is coenzyme Q10 so important for the heart?
The heart is an organ that constantly needs energy. C oenzyme Q10 plays a central role here, as it supports energy production in the heart muscle cells. A deficiency can impair heart function.
What happens with a coenzyme Q10 deficiency?
A Q10 deficiency can lead to fatigue, muscle pain and reduced performance. Organs that require a lot of energy, such as the heart and muscles, are particularly affected.
Can I also take coenzyme Q10 as a young person?
Coenzyme Q10 is mainly recommended for people over the age of 40 or with an increased need, as the body's own Q10 level decreases with increasing age. Younger people can also take Q10 if they have a high energy requirement, are on a plant-based diet or have health needs.
Can medication affect coenzyme Q10 levels?
In addition to cholesterol, statins also lower coenzyme Q10 levels as they inhibit HMG-CoA reductase, which is important for Q10 production in the body. This deficiency can lead to side effects such as muscle pain.
Less well known: Antidepressants and beta-blockers, these can also reduce Q10 levels with long-term use.
Can coenzyme Q10 be dangerous when taking blood thinners?
Coenzyme Q10 can weaken the effect of vitamin K antagonists such as Marcumar, as it has a similar structure to vitamin K. This can affect blood clotting. This can influence blood clotting. We recommend consulting a doctor before taking it.
Do athletes have a higher requirement for coenzyme Q10?
Yes, athletes often have an increased need for coenzyme Q10. As Q10 is responsible for energy production in the cells, it is increasingly used during physical activity. Especially sports that require endurance and intensive muscle work, such as running, cycling or strength training, lead to a higher consumption of Q10.
What is the difference between ubiquinone and ubiquinol?
Ubiquinone is the oxidized form of Q10. It must first be converted to ubiquinol in the body before it can be used.
Ubiquinol is the active, reduced form that is ready for immediate use. It is particularly recommended for older people and people with high energy requirements.
How much ubiquinone do I need compared to ubiquinol?
Since ubiquinol is absorbed 3 to 8 times better, you only need about 50 mg ubiquinol for the same effect as 150-400 mg ubiquinone.
Who has an increased risk of Q10 deficiency?
From the age of 40: The body's own Q10 production decreases.
Chronically ill people, stressed people, smokers: Increased requirement due to oxidative stress.
Vegetarians and vegans: Low Q10 intake as it is mainly found in animal products.
