Astragaloside IV is the most biologically active component of tragacanth root and its effectiveness has been demonstrated in many studies.

Astragalus is a very widely branched plant genus within the vascular plants with about 1600 to 3000 species. Native to Asia, the subspecies Astragalus membranaceus is known in China as "Huáng qí," meaning "yellow leader." It is one of the most important medicinal plants in traditional Chinese medicine and its roots have been used as a tonic for over a thousand years.

The most important ingredient classes of tragacanth root are polysaccharides, triterpene saponins – which also include astragalosides I to VIII – isoflavonoids, amino acids, fatty acids and minerals. Astragaloside IV plays the most important role as the biologically most active substance. The pharmacological effects of the ingredients have been well studied in vitro and in animal models.

The extract from the astragalus root is particularly popular with hay fever during the allergic period. Ideally, it should be taken four to six weeks before the pollen season and should be maintained during this time.

How should I take Astragaloside IV?

Since our product is optimally dosed, you consume only one capsule daily with sufficient water after a meal and have 50 mg of the premium raw material astragaloside IV active ingredient in one capsule and not as often stretched into 2 to 3 capsules.

How long should I take Astragaloside IV?

Start taking at least four to six weeks before the start of the pollen season and continue to take it until the end of the pollen season.

Can side effects occur?

Astragaloside IV has little or no side effects. If you still experience symptoms, stop taking it for the time being and consult your doctor.

When should I not take Astragalus Pro 500/50?

Astragalus Pro 500/50 should not be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding until further studies have been carried out. According to the current status of studies, Astragalus Pro 500/50 should also be avoided in the case of kidney disease.

Can I open the capsule?

The capsule can be opened without any problems. This way you can mix the powder it contains into your drink or into a meal.

Can I take Astragaloside IV permanently?

Astragaloside IV is considered safe to take. If you follow the recommended intake, there are usually no side effects, even if you take it continuously. In rare cases, the active ingredient piperine can cause minor irritation of the mucous membranes in the gastrointestinal tract. If this is the case for you, take the capsules with a meal.

What is the difference between Astragaloside IV and Astragalus?

Astragalus (tragacanth, wolfberry) is a genus of plants from the legume family.
Astragaloside IV is a specific active ingredient from the root of tragacanth. This is extracted from the root and isolated. The root contains only about 0.04% astragaloside IV.

What does IV stand for in Astragaloside IV?

IV stands for the Roman spelling of the number four. The astragalosides contained in the astragalus root, which belong to the triterpene saponins, are numbered from 1 (I) to 8 (VIII).
